Quick Overview

Spare Spindles as follows. To suit doors up to 54mm thick usually. Some handles need longer lengths and we can order these. These Spindles can be shortened. All 8mm thick.

Pitts Mortice. Plain 8mm Spindle floats between two Handles.

Half Sprung Spindle. For single sided operation of a mortice latch where the handle has no grub screw and is screwed to the door. The spring pushes against the latch and forces the spindle to stay in the handle. It does not provide a fixing for the handle.

Threaded Spindle. Usually for older style Mortice or Rim Knobs with threaded internals and a grub screw.

Half Griptight Spindle. For single sided operation of a mortice latch. The hooks hold on to the latch follower (the hole in the latch that the spindle goes through) and this provides a quite secure fixing for handles that have a grub screw to attach them to the spindle. The handle fixing is not just reliant on the screws that attach it to the door.

Split Spindle. For Escape function sashlocks. One side operated indepentantly of the other.

Taylors Spindle. Screws to your door before you slip the handle over it. Fixes the handle or knob dead. You sometimes have to let the flat base into the door so the handle can be fitted flush.
